What is TeamWalk?
TeamWalk funds make a difference in the lives of today's cancer patients by paying for medications, nutritional supplements, wigs and prostheses, support groups, skilled nursing visits, transportation, mini-grants, and supportive services to patients of all cancer types.  Funds raised enable Lowell General Hospital to provide assistance, support, and services to help people feel better, build confidence and instill hope throughout their battle with cancer. -- From TeamWalk's web site.

Tangle-A-Thon Origins

Tangle-A-Thon is developed by Emily Classon, Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) with support from several area CZTs.  Emily has received many personal and health benefits from her regular Zentangle practice, that she wanted to find a special way to give back to others beyond teaching the practice of Zentangle.  As a "pay-it-forward" idea, with Tangle-A-Thon, Emily hopes to inspire others to develop a love of the Zentangle Method, unite tanglers in a positive and fun event, and encourage people to raise money to help families affected by cancer.  Emily selected TeamWalk for CancerCare as the beneficiary for this fundraiser because it is a wonderful program that has helped several of her friends and colleagues over the years.  Emily and her family have been frequent participants in the TeamWalk event, and Emily's daughter and many of her friends were born at Lowell General Hospital.

In 2013, we offered the first Tangle-A-Thon event and raised $2,000 to benefit TeamWalk for CancerCare.

  1. Emily. It's on my calendar. I just sent this out to my Meet-up group. I'm also interested in helping. Let me know what you need. I thought of teaching 2 simple paper stands for our tiles.

    1. Yippee! I'm so glad you can join us again this year, Terry. Thank you very much for sharing with your group too. I'm hoping we can have a bigger crowd for more tangling fun and fundraising this year! I'm already excited. :-)

  2. Found out about this from Terry. Looking forward to it.

    1. How wonderful! We had a fun time last year, and I know this year will be great too. I'll have more information available soon as well. :-)

  3. I have already registered and am available to lend a hand. Just let me know how and when!

    1. Thanks, Tina! We may need some help the day of the event if you're interested. Mostly, just come and enjoy! :-)

  4. I don't see a form to fill out when I click on the button to register. Does that mean that it is full? Thanks!

    1. Hi Lisa. I'll check with the hospital to see if they're having trouble with the site. I can't see the firm either tonight. They said the site works best on a computer rather than a mobile device. Let's check tomorrow. And the event can't fill up! We have lots of room! :-). Sorry for the inconvenience.

  5. That's ok. Thank you for the quick response!
